SNACK RECIPES

  It's yuletide season again and I feel obliged to share some of my favourite recipes. We'll take this in bits. Patacones      Ever since I stumbled upon this delicacy on what my brother calls "German TV" (DW: Deutsche Welle), I fell in love with unripe plantain (green plantain). This is one of the ways I can eat green plantain without worrying about the taste (another is unripe plantain porridge which BTW is so AWESOME). Below are the ingredients, utensils and procedures used in making this delicacy and heard it is a Latin American delicacy. ·          Very green plantains or nearly ripe plantains for a sweeter variation (The plantain on the left is nearly ripe but that on the right is unripe but the lighting makes it look ripe). ·          Lots of vegetable oil ·          A knife for peeling, scraping & cutting the plantain into round chunky pieces ·          A deep cooking pot ·          Aluminium foil/ clean working area on w
