A girl called Shimmer

A girl called Shimmer I once knew a girl, a girl called Shimmer She is one of the few friends I really remember I remember her hair quite brown and shiny and her gaze intimidating and scary. Her words, soothing when needed With an appearance of one to be loved Her eyes, big and lovely, Her face, cute but pretty manly. Her skin, tender and soft and she walked with so much loft. I miss our times together back in the days; when we would play and make the maize farm our maze, when we would go out and play in the rain and when we got to know why horsemen use reins. It has been over some time and we haven't met each other but I am sure when we do we'll spend more time together. Ohh Shimmer, Shimmer How I really miss yahhhh!!!! By Magnanimous Ben

WORDS OF A BEREAVED CITIZEN

Deceived by your swaying words we voted, We voted with high hopes which have been shattered, We expected positive results but got none. We wanted relevant changes but got irrelevant ones, We ask for security but feel more insecure, We expected less corrupt… but got more, We awaited constant power supply but got nothing near, Once, one was doing things right but what did we hear? We asked for our refineries but got subsidy removed. You banned the import of some foods and no alternatives were created. We hear we have satellites but it seems they  aren't  in use, We are bereaved but no longer want to be but want to live in peace and glee. Magnanimous Ben Happy new month and have a fulfilled week !!!!!!

PHOBIAS (2)

Image
I am back to enlighten you with some more phobias and their names. Ø Aichmophobia: This is the fear of sharp and/or sharp objects. Ø Neophobia: This is the fear of new things or newness. Ø Gamophobia: Fear of commitments, marriages. Ø Omphalophobia: This refers to the fear of navels. Hmmmmm quite weird. Ø Phobophobia: This may sound funny but it is the fear of fear or having phobias. Ø Sesquipedalophobia: If you find it difficult pronouncing this then you definitely have a phobia for long words which is actually the meaning of this word. Ø Coulrophobia: This is the fear of clowns. This is not just for evil clown alone. Ø Atychiphobia: This is the fear of failure. I’d like to believe most people have this fear. Ø Hylophobia: This is the fear of forests, trees or wood. Ø Mysophobia: This is the fear of germs, contamination or dirt. Quite unheard of to me.

SUNDAY SPECIAL

Whilst reviewing events in my life, I realized that God had done more than I anticipated. I decided to write this poem to show my appreciation. I seek your face; Lord I seek your face Despite the fact that I may be out of grace, I seek your face In desperate times, I seek your ways When led astray, I seek your light When weak, I seek your strength When I am short of faith, I seek your grace When I am healthy, I give you praise When in abundance, give to the needy When I’m awake, give you all glory When I see my family, give you thanks I know I’m not perfect but you still love me. Happy Sunday peeps and have a blessed week. Magnanimous Ben

EMOTIONS

Feeling very poetic today and decided to share a poem from my “archive” EMOTIONS Flowers blooming and withering, Trees sprouting and falling, Humans ageing and dying, That’s how our emotions are, Sometimes we are as happy as Kings are, Sometimes we are crestfallen because of things happening. Sometime we long for some things, Other times we have mood swings. Our emotions are like televisions, Being controlled by the person with its remote in position. Our remote is controlled by our mind and environs Learn to control your emotions And be able to choose what and when to emote. Don’t get hurt because of fame, Don’t allow mind games. Control your remote of emotion. By Magnanimous Ben
