2020: TIPS ON BEING INTENTIONAL

As promised in my previous post, I’m back and we are still talking being intentional. Being intentional takes a lot of intent and commitment in the long run. Honestly, being intentional is not enough without being consistent regarding your intentions. Living intentionally may not be the easiest thing to do but it's worth giving a shot.
The year is still going and you probably are wondering: "How the heck do I jumpstart this being intentional thing?" Well, you aren't alone and I have curated some tips that I believe would aid our intentional living this year.

Have the big picture in view: where do you want to be by the end of 2020? how much progress and growth do you expect to have experienced? Create a big picture stemming from your answers to these questions and let them inform your goals.
For a wholesome big picture, answer the above questions concerning your life in the following categories:
Spiritual
Physical (health and fitness etc)
Emotional (relationships, mental health, thoughtfulness etc)
Financial (income, budget, business etc)
Career/academic

Set goals in bits: we at times think setting big goals make for better goal setting. I however am beginning to see setting goals in such a manner as a means to hardly achieve those goals. Set bite-sized goals with a realistic time frame for them to be actualized. Make the bite-sized goals a buildup to the larger goal. Take for instance; one of your chunky goals is running a successful business that you are still yet to start. Bite-sized goals would include starting the business, targeting a certain number of consumers/customers and then extending your reach. That kinda thing.

Be precise: saying you would do or be this and that at a certain point in the year is not enough. Once you have your goals sorted, state expressly what actions you want to take to bring those goals to reality. Doing this makes the mind involved then, you become watchful and thoughtful of your actions regarding the set goals.

Lay them before you: ever heard the saying; “you can feature in what you can picture” or Abraham being told he could possess as far as he could see? Believe it or not, what we see or spend time dwelling upon eventually become part of us, our thought and our existence. Whether you make a list of your goals and corresponding action and paste them the mirror you stare at right after you getup from bed. Or you place the same goals in that one book you take along with you virtually everywhere. You might be the artsy and decide to make and hang a vision board on the wall in front of your bed. Whatever it may be for you, transform those goals to visual reminders for every waking moment.
