Day 6: Books (good ones to be precise)

I probably would be overflogging it if i mention how much of a book person i am well, too late. I just did. I'm grateful for good books in whatever form that come, paperback, hardback, no back (softcopy) or something that has passed through different hands, as long as the prints are clear, and there are no missing pages, I'm game.



For the alternate universes I've been thrust into over the years,
For the characters I've come to know and love.
And those that have become part of me,
For the variety of emotions that you've introduced me too,
Trust me I am grateful.

For the unexpected twists,
The suspenseful moments,
Times when you left me turning your pages like a hungry bookworm (pun intended)
For the beauty within you that I have come to appreciate
Trust me I am grateful.

For the truths,
For painting things for what they really are.
For the knowledge you hold,
For telling stories that some would rather not,
Trust me I am grateful.

For ensuring I fell in love with words,
For the sweet musty smell you sometimes hold,
For the thousands of pages I've thumbed through
And the ones still to come,
Trust me, I'm grateful.

For Patterson, Adichie, Grisham, Uncle Achebe, Sheldon, Roberts and the millions of wordsmiths (renowned and upcoming, big times and small times) out there,
For those that explore the grounds of poetry,
For the "awesomest" playwrights
And for good adaptations of books,
my heart is full of gratitude.

  Hello peeps, how has the month been? I’ve been playing coward for a while now, let me tell you why. I read a book some weeks back—which I stumbled upon by the way—and I was like it’s something I’d like to make a blog post about but I have been “shifting post” ever since. I have decided to take the bull by the horns and do it anyways.     Hmm!! Where do I start? Okay, this book I’m talking about is titled VIOLENCE written by FESTUS IYAYI and I’d say it was a good—real good—read. The time in which the story was set wasn’t really stated but I figure it was set sometime in the 70s going but the copyright and an account somewhere in the book. The storyline spans roughly 2-3 weeks, my guess being right.     The plot revolves basically around two couples, one affluent and the other poverty stricken. GROWING UP BIG FOOT

Howdy mates!!!! Over the past week, I found myself brainstorming on what to write next for this blog. Honestly, blogging the way I do (writing articles) can be much of a work at times. Some days, I just sit in front of my screen, staring blankly, with no idea on what exactly to write about. Other days, I could have numerous ideas floating in my head, sometimes, I’m lucky enough to get most of them down and fleshed up, other times, I get to just a couple and the rest fly away or just don’t seem as interesting as the initial thought. Today’s post is several years old but it still rings true and possesses the same initial vibe it had. And, guess what? It is not as particularly serious as my last couple of posts have been--just something on a lighter note.
